Building Permit - Contractor / Tenant / Owner
Building permits may be taken out by a contractor, the tenant or the property owner. An inspection is required by the City upon completion of work. Access building permits. Electrical Permit - Contractor
To perform electrical contracting work in the City, a firm shall be properly licensed by the State of Wisconsin. An electrical permit is required when any electrical work is being done in conjunction with a building permit. If no building permit is required, and more than three outlets (receptacles, lights, switches, etc.) are added, an electrical permit is required (this usually excludes minor repairs).
Before any electrical work can begin, the permit and fee needs to be received by the Inspection Division. No appointments can be scheduled until this happens. HVAC Permit - Contractor
HVAC permits are required when any heating work is being done. Permits are required for furnace replacements, air conditioning replacements, etc. An inspection is required by the City upon completion of work. Access HVAC permits. In the past, the City of Green Bay had required HVAC contractors to obtain licensing through the City, but that requirement is no longer in effect. HVAC contractors are still required to be licensed with the State of Wisconsin.
Plumbing Permit - Contractor
Permits are required for turf watering systems, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water heater replacement, etc. An inspection is required by the City upon completion of work. PLUMBING INSPECTION UPDATE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2021
In compliance with SPS 382.21, the City of Green Bay will be requiring that all installations of sanitary sewers and interior drain, waste, and vent be tested and witnessed by the plumbing inspector(s). In accordance with 382.21(1)(b)1.a., the plumber responsible for the installation shall notify the Inspection Division by phone or writing when the installation is ready for inspection. Please schedule your inspections using the methods noted above.
